Good Clean Fun @ The Y.

We had a big food fight last weekend with a bunch of friends from the ward. Last year my room mates and I hosted a cake fight, but this year we mixed up foul concoctions of: flour, water, food coloring, jello, mustard, stewed tomatoes, and pineapple chunks.

No Man, It's an Island

Saturday we took advantage of the amazing weather we've been having and drove out to Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake.

Here we are standing 10 miles from the shore!

Satchmo was none too keen on the whole rock/water/squishy sand sensation. Or maybe it was the salt water searing into his many cuts and scrapes. I told him the water had curative powers. Didn't help.

Nina stripped down to her skivies and worked on her latest modern dance cycle, "I Sing the Brine Shrimp Electric." We're hoping for Juilliard.

We saw antelope and buffalo...

...and an amazing sunset too. A fun afternoon that sure beats yard work.

Trip to Utah

The last week of August we took a trip to Utah to drop off Seth and Kirsten at BYU. First, we needed to stop at Bear Lake, where Uncle Todd (aka, The Host With the Most) force-fed us milkshakes and commented on our pale complexions.

After that we drove to Provo, did some organizational work with the scholars, and then free-loaded off of Suki and Rich. Here are some pics in their basement, but we failed to get one with Suki and Rich. (Actually, they took off early the next morning for Chicago to see a Cubs game for Rich's birthday.)

This last one was going to be a Christmas card picture, but I'm not so sure now. A couple of the kids look rather annoyed.

Then came the final drop off.

On the way out of town we stopped by to see the Mike/Aimee contingent. Mike was at work, but while we were there Joel showed up.

Then we stopped off to see Matt and Symonie. Matt was at work. And Nina shunned us and went to lay down on her parent's bed.
The burden of guilt from her rudeness overcame her, and she was smitten with a sore sleepiness. (Actually, she had had a play date that day, and seemed pretty tired when we showed up at 5 pm.)

It was fun to see most everyone. We missed Mike, Matt and Keri and the kids. As we were passing Ogden we knew Todd was out of town, but wanted to stop and see Keri. We called them and no one was home, and since it was getting late and we were ever so anxious to see the beauties of South-Eastern Idaho, we pushed ahead.

Portland Harrises Come to Utah

What a week it's been . . . Since BYU is starting, we've been able to see Lee and Lisa and their kids, AND Stuart and the A and their kids. Here's Lee's family, hamming it up and looking good! Stuart took pictures with his camera, which he said he'll get Hanna to post on the blog soon.
It was great to see everybody!
